Turkey Number Order Craft and Cut and Paste Worksheets

Please take a moment and share this post!

Looking for a fun way to practice number sequencing this November? This turkey number order craft turns numbers 1–10 into colorful turkey feathers! Preschool and kindergarten students can put the feathers in the correct order while practicing number recognition, counting, cutting, and gluing.

I’ve included two ways to practice in one download: a hands-on paper turkey craft and a Thanksgiving number ordering cut-and-paste worksheet. Choose the version that works best for your math centers, morning work, or small groups.

Turkey Number Order Craft for Preschool and Kindergarten

Turkey crafts are always a fun addition to November lessons, and this one gives children a chance to practice an important early math skill. Students arrange numbered feathers from 1 to 10, then glue them behind their turkey to create a bright Thanksgiving display.

Before gluing, invite children to count aloud and check which number comes next. You can also ask questions such as, “Which feather goes between 4 and 6?” or “What number comes after 8?”

How to Make the Turkey Number Sequencing Craft

Gather the printable turkey templates, construction paper, crayons or markers, child-safe scissors, and glue sticks. Then:

  • Print the turkey body and numbered feather templates.
  • Color the pieces or use colored paper for a bright fall turkey.
  • Cut out the turkey and feathers.
  • Arrange the feathers in number order before gluing.
  • Glue the feathers behind the turkey body and display the finished craft.

For children who are still learning number order, give them a number line or arrange the first few feathers together before they work independently.

Thanksgiving Number Order Cut and Paste Worksheet

Need a simpler, one-page option? The turkey number order cut-and-paste worksheet lets children color the turkey and feathers, cut out the numbers, and glue each feather in the correct sequence. It’s an easy activity for November morning work, independent math practice, or a quick small-group lesson.

You can use the worksheet as a follow-up after building the larger craft, or offer both versions at a math center so children can practice the same skill in different ways.

Practice Numbers 1–5 and 1–10

The pictured number-order worksheets include options for sequencing 1–5 and 1–10. Start with fewer feathers for children who are beginning to recognize numbers, then use the 1–10 version when they’re ready for a longer sequence.
