Now you may be asking yourself, can I put glitter in reindeer food? I know it’s tempting to make the reindeer food sparkle, but I do not suggest using real glitter or sequins.

Since this holiday mixture will be left outside, the glitter could cause stomach problems if live animals eat it. If you’d like the look of glitter, here’s a safe and edible option from Amazon.

How to make Reindeer Food

For even more fun, turn the bags into cute reindeer with googly eyes, a brown pipe cleaner, and a red pom-pom.

Step One: Print

There are two options to choose from. A rectangle template, perfect for attaching to a ziplock bag and a tag template if you choose to turn this into a reindeer craft.

Step Two: Cut

Cut the top off a Ziplock bag. Then add in one cup of oatmeal and some sugar or festive sprinkles.

Step Three: assemble the Antlers and Face

Next, take the pipe cleaner and wrap it around the top to seal the bag.

Then, scrunch the ends of the pipe cleaner to create the antlers. Attach a bow if you’d wish.

After that, glue on a red pom pom for Rudolph’s nose and a pair of eyes.

Step Four: Attach the Reindeer food tag

Attach the reindeer food label with a ribbon or thread it through the pipe cleaner antler from step 3. That’s it! Aren’t these the cutest reindeer food tag printables?
