Fun All About Me Activities for Kindergarten Learners
All about me activities for kindergarten can take on many forms. There are lots of fun ways to get up and get moving while having your kindergarten students engage in learning about one another. Check out some of my favorite activities for kindergarten kiddos below.
Sidewalk Chalk Self Portraits
On a sunny day, take your students outdoors to draw chalk outlines of each other. Organize your students into small groups of 2 or 3. Then, have one student lie on the ground while the other children trace their outlines with sidewalk chalk.
Kindergarteners should take turns until everyone has their own sidewalk chalk outline. Then, let your students get creative by turning the outlines into self-portraits. Finally, have an art show!
Let students wander around checking out everyone’s self-portraits. See if they can guess which sidewalk chalk self-portrait belongs to which student. Take pictures of your students next to their creations to create a fun bulletin board for the classroom this school year.
All About Me Poems
Explore rhyming words and rhythm by having your kindergarten students try to write All About Me poems. These poems can take so many different forms. One fun way to do it is by writing each child’s name down the left side of the page and having the kids fill it in with words that start with each corresponding letter.
Finally, have your students present their poems to the class. It’s a fun way to learn more about one another and teach language arts skills at the same time. You can also let students ask one another simple questions after presentations to facilitate conversations and social-emotional skill-building in the classroom.
Show and Tell Presentations
Show and tell presentations might just be the best part of kindergarten! I just love hearing each student share something about themselves or something that’s important to them in their own words.
It’s a perfect circle time activity to introduce your kindergarten students to practice public speaking and speech concepts.
You can do show-and-tell presentations at the beginning and at the end of the year. It’s a great activity to show how much your students have grown and progressed throughout the school year.

All About Me Silhouette Collage
This fun activity is ideal for little learners! You can spend the day learning about your students and making these great keepsakes. Here’s what you’ll need:
- Scissors
- Glue
- Construction Paper
- Old Magazines
- Projector
First, use the projector to trace a silhouette for each student onto white paper. Then, help students to cut out their silhouettes. They’ll be building strong fine motor skills as they complete these cutouts too!
Next, have your kindergarten students glue the silhouette to a piece of construction paper. Each student can choose their favorite color to make these silhouette collages even more personal. Then, kids can use old magazines to find and cut out their favorite things.
Finally, have students glue the magazine pictures to their silhouettes. In the end, they’ll have a beautiful art project that’s filled with all their favorite things. It’s a unique all-about-me activity for kindergarten that’s a lot of fun too!
